That was once a successful start of the year of the BVMW here in the region and with its partners, on this fantastic evening in impressive scenery of the Althoff Hotels.

Thanks to Andreas Scheuer, who nicely also hinted at critical aspects of the hype surrounding TikTok. Because when using TikTok, there are some concerns that should be taken into account.

Here are 5 points that we would like to mark for our part for use:

✅ Privacy: TikTok has been through several privacy scandals in the past and there are concerns about the way the platform collects and uses personal data. It is important to familiarize yourself with the platform's privacy policy and make sure you are comfortable with how your personal information is used.

✅ Content moderation: There are reports of racist, sexist, and other problematic content found on the platform. It is important to ensure that you only consume content that you feel is appropriate and to be mindful of what content you share yourself.

✅ Mental health implications: There are reports of young people becoming addicted to the app and feeling pressured to produce and consume more and more content. It is important to find a healthy balance and ensure that using TikTok does not affect mental health.

✅ Cyberbullying: TikTok, like other social media platforms, can be a place for cyberbullying. It is important to use the platform safely and protect yourself from unwanted messages or insults.

✅ Time wasting: TikTok can sometimes be a waste of time and users can quickly spend hours viewing and creating content. It's important to be aware of how much time you spend on the platform and make sure it doesn't interfere with the other important aspects of your life.
